Reviving an Iconic Virginia Brand

Pooja Group’s journey in the convenience store industry began in 2010 as a family endeavor, starting with a single station—Midtown Shell—in the Northern Neck region of Virginia. With a deep-rooted commitment to serving the local community, the business quickly grew, expanding to four locations within just two years.

The fourth acquisition was particularly meaningful: the last remaining Little Sue Food Store, a cherished Virginia brand that once had over 40 locations statewide. As many of these stores were sold off to national chains like 7-Eleven, the family saw an opportunity to revive and preserve a beloved local name. Recognizing the heritage and community value of Little Sue, they decided to rebrand all their locations under this iconic banner, ensuring the legacy lived on.

Today, Pooja Group, still family-owned and operated, proudly serves the community with 11 Little Sue Food Store locations throughout the Northern Neck of Virginia, along with one location in Hampton, VA, and another in Ocean City, Maryland. In 2023, the company further expanded its footprint by acquiring Pizza Boys Convenience Store in Delmar, Maryland, and Oasis Travel Plaza, a truck stop in Laurel, Delaware, reinforcing its commitment to offering exceptional service and quality to the Mid-Atlantic region.

As a family business, Pooja Group believes in more than just growth—it’s about fostering relationships, supporting local communities, and honoring the legacy of the brands and people who helped build them.
